What Is Forestry Mulching?
Forestry mulching uses a high-speed rotating drum or disc fitted with carbide teeth, mounted on an excavator or dedicated mulching machine. As the drum spins, it grinds everything in its path, trees up to a certain diameter, shrubs, woody weeds, dense undergrowth, into fine mulch that falls directly to the ground surface.

Lantana and other invasive weeds can regrow from root stock off the smaller plants and the seeds can lay dormant in the soil for up to 5 years. However once Lantana has been mulched down to the ground this then allows access to then come in and cut any regrowth before going to seed or spray any regrowth that comes up, largely reducing the amount of spray needed to control the outbreak and increasing access to spray. We recommend a follow-up treatment 12 to 18 months later to catch regrowth before it establishes. Repeated mechanical treatment is more environmentally responsible than herbicides and achieves good long-term control.
